5th EUROPEAN 5G OBSERVATORY STAKEHOLDER WORKSHOP: "5G IN THE DIGITAL DECADE" (European Commission. Online, 26 October 2023)

This workshop was focused on the current state of 5G deployment and 5G pilot projects in Europe. It aimed to bring together stakeholders from various sectors, including telecom operators, suppliers, and national authorities, to discuss the progress made towards achieving the 5G objectives outlined in the EU's Digital Decade strategy. It probably included presentations, panel discussions, and opportunities for participants to share their experiences and perspectives on the deployment and adoption of 5G in Europe.

The first presentation presents the latest news and figures from the 5G Observatory. During the workshop, it was presented by Richard Haas from PolicyTracker, Manuel Marti from LS Telcom and Monica Pesce from VVA.

The second presentation showcased the lessons learned from EU trials and pilot projects conducted in the context of the 5G Public Private Partnership and the Joint Undertaking on 5G/6G Smart Networks & Services. It was p resented by Carles Anton Haro of CTTC (Centre Tecnològic de Telecomunicacions de Catalunya) in his role as the trials WG chair at the Joint Undertaking SNS.

The final presentation was a brief overview presented by Sietse van der Gaast, Co-chair of the Wireless Network Evolution Working Group BEREC. It provided an overview of the evolving policy and market needs for 5G service deployment tracking and reporting.
