On 21 May 2025, the Body of European Regulators for Electronic Communications (BEREC) organised a workshop on preventing number misuse and fraudulent activities in light of new technologies.
The significant increase in fraudulent traffic and scams was among the top three market developments identified by BEREC in its opinion on the review of end-user rights of 5 December 2024 (under article 123 of the European Electronic Communications Code).
